It is hard to imagine how our life would function today without light. So much of what we do depend on it. Just this very weekend New York City experienced a major blackout in some areas of Brooklyn and other adjoining communities. The situation threw many people into a panic.
I am so thankful that God does not place those standards on us. He is not impressed with our social, educational, political, financial or relational standards. You do not get more respect with him because you are best friends with Apostle so and so or the tycoon of the largest fortune 500 company. Paul said it very well in Romans 2:11 ‘For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another]’
The Japanese art and philosophy Kintsugi teaches us a very value lesson about the beauty of our brokenness. It is very similar to the promise of Psalm 147:3. The Lord will heal the broken hearted and bind up our wounds. He does that and never covers it up!
