I have been doing some research to prepare for an upcoming training session by Pastor Jeff Yuen on using the prophetic to locate objects and things. As I was reading the Holy Spirit reminded me of the many instances when of the gifts of the Holy Spirit worked in this manner. Some were sovereignly orchestrated by God. Such as when we were being ordained.
We had satisfied every criteria to be ordained, except one. We needed to get a robe. Thankfully the robe was not similar. Each ministered had the liberty to style their robe how they desired. Everyone was talking about their custom robe. There were excited about the patterns and colors they were putting on it. Tameika and I kept quiet. We had no money to purchase the robes.
As the time for the ceremony drew closer we sought God to provide. God assured us all would be well. We were elated. I thought that we see and immediate response but this was not so. One week before ordination we still had no money. That’s when I said something has to be done. No longer could we wait. So we fasted and prayed to unlock what God had promised.
The moment I began praying I had a vision of myself in a house. I was looking outside the door. It was raining heavily outside. In the rain walked three men. In the center of them was a doctor. All were talking and laughing without a care for the rain. I had a witness in my spirit that this was God saying all is taken care of. At lunchtime Tameika contacted me. She had received $100 from her boss, a dentist. As soon as she he put the money in her hand the Holy Spirit told her to give me. When she placed the money in my hand the power of God came on me. The Holy Spirit told me to put it away, it was for the robe. Later that day a friend called. The Lord had told him to send me $100. The next day at Bible Study a cousin handed me…Yes!…You are correct $100. When that money hit my hand the Holy Spirit said go buy the robes.
When we checked the stores we discovered that one clergy robes cost far more than the money we had. We didn’t panic. We went back to praying. We trusted that God knew where the robes were located. Our request was simple.
“Lord show us where we may purchase the robes.”
“Green Acres”, came the response.
I told Tameika what I heard. She knew the area and suggested it must be the Green Acres Mall. We walked that entire mall but found no Christian store that sold robes. We new were heard right so we called a friend. (Poor us…we needed to ask the Holy Spirit for more details). Minutes later we sped off to visit a store recommended by our friend. It was a little outside of that area but we thought nothing of it. You know we could have been wrong. The store had clergy gowns. We just could not afford any. Still we were undaunted. My girlfriend (we weren’t married then) decided to store clerk if there was another store that sold robes.
“Where is one nearby. It is in Green Acres. They sell baptismal robes. You may try them but hurry they are about to close.”
In a flash we were on our way. It was now late in the evening. It was either now or no ordination. As our car pulled into the driveway the Presence of God overshadowed me. I began vibrating under the power of the Holy Spirit. I knew without a doubt this was the store. The gowns were here. The robes cost a little bit more than we had but the store clerk decided to provided a discount. We didn’t ask. She just decided to be generous. (I believe that was God’s doing). Would you believe that when the discount was applied it brought the priced of the gowns down to the exact amount we had! What a good Father! Tameika calmly paid while I took the gowns from the clerk. The moment those things hit my hand I felt the weight of God’s glory. My knees buckled a little bit. A small shout came from my lips. I could not hold it. It was like fire in my bones. My body was bursting under the pressure. Something had to come out. In hindsight I should have laid hands on that store clerk. Just zapped her right there. She looked at me like ‘you are weird’. I did not care. My body was there but my mind, soul and spirt was in a whole other place. I was fighting to just stay conscious.
God had supernaturally provided and lead us to the store. If we had asked more directions from him we would have saved on gas. But that was a great lesson in relying on God and using the gifts of word of knowledge and wisdom to locate robes that God had pre-ordained for us.
The rest of the week had several other supernatural occurrences. One day God sent an angel to give us money while we waited in line to pay for gifts for all the children at church. A lady walked up to us. Handed Tameika a gift voucher. We thanked her. Examined it for a few seconds. Then held up our head to talk to her and she was not there. I walked out the store but the lady was no where to be found. She had disappeared.
Family the gift of word of Knowledge may be used to locate things. Just as we were given the location for the store where we could purchase our gowns. We got the general area. What we should have done is to ask for further details. Such location of the store. Name of the store. We could have also asked God to show us. He would have done it. One week I wanted to see the new house a family member had moved into. I was unable to do so and requested some pictures to be sent. None came. I was disappointed but decided to let it wait until I visited the country. A few days later I decided to intercede about some matters when the Holy Spirit intervened. I found myself looking down on the house. I knew I was at the home of my family member. I began to descend and could see details of the building. God had decided to show me great favor by answering the desires of my heart.
What a good, good Father we have. He wants to show you so much more. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are to empower us to do the work of the Lord. There will be prophets who will work with the police to locate missing people. It has started but it will be more widespread. Guess what! This is not just for prophets. God wants ALL His children to come to maturity. Every saint must mature to the level.
Be encouraged beloved. Your Father loves you dearly and wants to show himself good on your behalf.
2 Kings 6:8-12
8 When the king of Syria was warring against Israel, after counseling with his servants, he said, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
9 Then the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, Beware that you pass not such a place, for the Syrians are coming down there.
10 Then the king of Israel sent to the place of which [Elisha] told and warned him; and thus he protected and saved himself there repeatedly.
11 Therefore the mind of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing. He called his servants and said, Will you show me who of us is for the king of Israel?
12 One of his servants said, None, my lord O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedchamber.
May the Lord open your eyes to hear and see the plans of the enemy so you may effectively plan, advise and wage a good warfare.
