Sheep in Wolves Clothing

I feel so blessed that God has placed an understanding and wise woman by my side. Ministry has many pitfalls that we must be aware of and ensure that our hearts are guarded at all times.

On Saturday July 19, 2020 at 2:55 am I was just retiring to bed when the phone rang. A recently added Facebook friend was calling me. Given the name I had a strong suspicion the call came from a distant nation.

I didn’t answer. If you call at that time you must be family, very close friend or dying for me to take a call. As a married man it would be very disrespectful for me to be on the phone talking with someone I do not know. I dismissed the call and began praying in the spirit to prepare for sleep. That did not stop her. Again the call came from Facebook messenger. Once again it was dismissed. Somehow my ‘new friend’ did not get the message. She called right back. With a sigh, I simply placed the phone on “do not disturb and went to bed”.

As soon as I woke and turned on the phone it began ringing again. My friend obviously wanted to make my acquaintance urgently. For a moment I thought to myself that this may be a real emergency. Given that social media has many pitfalls I checked with the Holy Spirit to discern the persons motive. There was no assurance from the Holy Spirit to answer. Instead all I felt was an alarm. A warning siren was going off inside me. You may call it a gut feeling. Just that knowing that something is not right. That was it for me. So I ignored it and went about my day.

Beware the Wife

The voice calls kept coming so much that I simply resorted to block her on messenger. When we finished our Sunday morning Facebook live I noticed that a long message was sent on Saturday asking me to share to do a brief Bible School. The catch was the people were desperately in need of the teaching. By the Holy Spirit, I discerned the caller had very bad motives. Just to ensure I was not in my feelings, I informed my wife and asked her opinion.

“Let us call right now”, she advised. “If this is God let us find out.”

The person immediately answered. She was happy that I called. Well until I introduced my wife. Suddenly my friend was healed of memory loss. In a snap she realized it was midnight! You know what that means, right? Yep! She needed her beauty sleep! in the most pleasant tone she assured us that she would call in the morning and quickly hung up. Imagine my surprise. Just a day before my friend was eager to speak. Time didn’t matter. Calls came night and day. Every hour. Now that we finally decided to speak she wanted sleep.

Hhhmmmm???

Friends, I checked Facebook a few minutes after the call and her account was gone! Completely disappeared. What happened to the desperate need of the people for the Gospel? No longer was there a need for people to be healed and delivered?

I may act naïve at times but trust me I am far from that. I have learnt to not act rashly when it comes to the work of the Lord. Before I do anything, I always check to get the green light from God. Without a clear YES I am not moving. Thank God I am not looking to be platformed. If that were the case I would be pastoring right now. A family member wanted me to take over his church. I also have other family members that want me to be very active in their church but I know that is not the will of God. He chose to move us to an area where there are no family members with a ministry.

I may not have gotten everything perfect. Lord knows I have faced some unnecessary hardship because of my disobedience. Those lessons taught me not to be hasty about making decisions. Not all that glitters is gold. Patient waiting to hear from God will save a world of hurt.

Be on Guard

Friends, be careful of wolf in sheep clothing. The Bible tells us that inside they are ravenous wolves. Not everyone who claims they are about God’s business is truly after the heart of God. Their motive are dictated by the god of money. They have an anything for the dollar attitude. God is only used to justify their abhorrent behavior.

Do not think for a moment that God is simply standing idly by and just allowing everything to occur. Hear me well!

In this hour God is exposing hidden agendas and works that are not of Him. His house is being cleansed. The purifying fire of God has returned to His house.

Luke 3:17
His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather the wheat into His barn. But He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Please do not be discouraged if you have encountered scammers and fake people, pretending to be men and women of God. There are many people with genuine hearts and motives using social media to share the gospel. My advise is that you:

  1. Seek after God. Do not seek after the latest greatest fad or personality. Many times God uses a servant who is unknown.
  2. Be careful of your motives for seeking to hear the gospel. If our motives are not right it can lead us into deception. Satan is just waiting to pull anyone down the road of destruction.
  3. Be prayerful about your interactions. Listen but take the matter to God before you act.
  4. Be quick to heed the voice of the Holy Spirit. You just get a small impression. Some feeling of unease. Learn to follow that leading. I learnt to listen to that inner voice before I knew God spoke through the leading of His Holy Spirit. I cannot tell you how many times it saved me from becoming entangled with the most nefarious people. Yep! Move when you get that alert on the inside.
  5. Know God for yourself. Spend time in the Word each day. Ask God to give you understanding and knowledge of His Word.
  6. Ask God to keep you from deception and false doctrine. Ask Him to lead you to the right people. He has great people around to build you. Let Him lead you.

Sometimes when God is leading you He will let you feel that you know someone for a very long time. You know that you have never met them but somehow you just feel that you have been friends for ever. That is a great indication that there is a divine connection; a destiny encounter. I got connected to my spiritual mother in this way. The first time I met her was at my grandmothers funeral. I was meeting her for the first time. I had heard some stories about her but never seen her face to face. In the moment we met, I felt an overwhelming love for her. Months later God sent me to her church through a series of dreams and visions. Little did I know that she was the key for unlocking my prophetic heritage.

Give No Place to the Devil

It is very important that you do not allow yourself to become offended and overly suspicious of people based on their nationality or a single events. (If you are having ongoing regular experiences then you may need deliverance 😁😁. Please inbox me).

Loves believes the best in people at all times. Love does not keep a record of wrongs. It is ever hopeful.

The person who called me is from a nation that the Lord has revealed a connection. I know that I will visit that nation to do the work of the Lord. I believe sine this came through a prophetic word Satan was trying to let me curse the nation instead of blessing the people.

PS. Just for laughs I added the below image. I thought it was appropriate as it was the direct actions of my wife that ended the lie. I would have prayed and waited on God before responding.
