Emotional Healing | Healing Meditation

Have you been plagued my feelings of loneliness? May I encourage you to not trust your feelings. That may sound strange but please allow me to state my point. Our feelings can and do lie to us at times. If not placed under control our feelings can wreak havoc in our life.

Smith Wigglesworth was a great apostle of faith. He experienced many miracles in his ministry. It’s reported that he raised approximately 36 people from the dead. Lester Sumrall, who knew him intimately, said when he asked Wigglesworth what was his secret to the vibrancy and hope that he always maintained. Wigglesworth did something unusual. He grabbed his hand and carried him before a mirror. Then he said these words.

“I do not ask Smith Wigglesworth how he is feeling I tell Smith Wigglesworth how he should feel.”

Hallelujah! Talk about maintain control over the emotions. Mr. Sumrall also reports that Wigglesworth’s routine was to spend 10 minutes every morning praising God and dancing before Him. He allow himself to feel like doing it. He didn’t wait until several hours or minutes after waking. No sir! He did it immediately. When those eyes popped open he jumped to his feet and began worshipping God. I want you to think about that for a moment. (Yeah it’s a selah moment). Wouldn’t you agree that is a great way to keep your emotions in check? Wigglesworth also practised the presence of God. He only prayed for 10-15 minutes but never he went 15 minutes without praying. His routine was always to study the Word then pray. It was always word then prayer. Word then prayer. Word then prayer…

Isaiah tells us that our peace is maintained when we keep our mind on the Lord (Isaiah 26:3). That’s an excellent way to keep yourself free from worries, anxiety and fears. This is not just one of those instructions that we ignore. We must make this a part of our lifestyle. I did and reaped the rewards. I was a classic worrier. I constantly thought negatively about issues until I was overwhelmed. Sometimes I was so deeply depressed that I was plagued with suicidal thoughts. After surrendering my life to Jesus I was set free from that burden. Yet I did not know how to exercise control over my emotions and thoughts. Thankfully I had help. God would wake me each morning to pray and read the word. I kept with it and the reward was a new outlook on life. The more I meditated on scripture the more real God became. What was on paper became a part of my natural life.

O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him. (Psalm 34:8)

I tasted and was satisfied. God filled me with his joy and peace. I will not tell you that I maintained it every day. There are some days when the struggle is real. I revert to the old ways. That was the case recently. Our home became busy. Caring for an elderly relative took its toll. There were emotional, mental and spiritual stuff happening around the person. Dealing with him was hard. Nevertheless we persevered. Thankfully God kept correcting us each time we stepped out of line. He would always remind us that love is the key. When we love we do not carry the burdens of this life.

There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection]. (1 John 4:18)

True love allows us to soar above all fears. Turmoil is left behind. It does not even come close. Just yesterday I called a friend. God had given me a vision of her while I was in morning prayer. Then He told me to go tell her. I had no clue of what it meant but I had His assurance that in that moment I would receive the interpretation. As I shared there there were many layers of interpretation that He gave me. What impacted me the most was His assurance to her that a situation she faced was her fault. She was only to respond in love. At the end of our conversation she was left with the peace of God. When we know what God is saying it simply allows us to be at peace. Listen, it pays dividends to stay in the Word!

He may not send someone to speak to you. He will also speaks to your heart to remind you that He is with you. When you trust Him. He will give you solutions to your problems.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

One thing that we must also practise is speaking the Word of God over our life and situation. When you have released that word, just go about your business. My grandmother would just start singing and rejoicing. My mom has a wonderful habit of maintaining her peace. She has endured a lot from a child. Yet she is always filled with hope, peace and joy. Her routine is to be thankful. She always thankful to God for every thing. Even the smallest of things. And is always quick to be a blessing to others. There are days when her emotions try to rule but she always push back by putting her thoughts on God and His many blessings.

With discipline you can exercise control over your emotions and thoughts. God’s design is not for you to practise mindfulness. You must keep your focus on Him and you will always be opened to seeing the possibilities. Everything looks so much smaller from His eyes. Just imagine that for a moment. Your huge problem is smaller than an ant before God. He never worries or fear that he is not able to offer solutions that meet the needs of the billions of people on the earth. Jesus revealed the Father God’s approach to issues. He never allowed himself to worry.

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:33-34)

Jesus said worry adds nothing to us. If you seek God with all your heart then he will add everything to you. That’s his promise. You can take it to the bank! It can always be cashed. He’s good. He’s faithful. Let the Son’s light come in. Let it chase away all dark and gloomy thoughts. Let His light transform you. Jesus is waiting…just call on Him.

Please let me pray for you.

Father in the name of Jesus my brother/sister is under attack in the mind. There are so many conflicting and over-powering thoughts at times. Sometimes it is hard to think clearly. I know this is not your will. Your desire is for us to experience life in full abundance. Through our relationship with You, there is peace, joy and so much more. All good things comes from above. It comes from the Father of lights who changes not. So now Father, I ask in the name of Jesus, that you remove all bad thoughts from my brother/sister. Please touch and heal each emotional wound.

Lord Jesus this is why you died on the cross. You died to set the captives free. You took on yourself all our emotional scars. And you healed us by your stripes. I thank you for what you have done.

I thank you that my brother/sister now receives your peace.

Right now I just release that upon him/her, in Jesus name. Let the wind of your Holy Spirit revive and refresh their soul. Thank you Lord Jesus. You are a wonderful God. Thank you for your love for us. Amen. You Are Not Alone

The Lord himself is always with you. He is the ever present God. May I tell you this? He has always provides guardian angels to watch, defend and preserve you.

For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. (Psalm 91:11)
