Prayer for Kanye West

It has been over a year since I have been watching events concerning Kanye West. I believe as a prophet I cannot simply speak what I think but must seek the heart of God in a matter and then express it. Just like a speaker box what comes in is released. I took my time with the issue because I have never participated in celebrity worship and do not ever want my actions and speech to be influenced by my feelings. So I looked at his Sunday services and held my tongue. Privately, I prayed for the will of God to be done.

As things changed and he begun to take the services to the churches I begun to seek God for understanding. To hear God clearly I had to shut out the media frenzy and simply become still before God. It is in the stillness that his voice is heard clearly. This is what I perceive that God is saying on the matter.

A life is precious we should never trivialize that point. God cares about everyone. He is not impressed by our standing with man. When He assesses us He examines our relationship with Him. Do we belong to him or do we not belong to him? If we belong then the next assesses is where are we in our relationship. If there are hindrances God wants those removed. He wants us to all come to the full knowledge and understanding of Him. God heart for Kanye West is the same as it is for you and I. He wants him to be saved. Then He will also use him to make disciples of all men.

Now I know that Kanye’s approach to worshiping God does not fit into our established norm of visiting church, hearing the Pastor and making a surrender to Christ. But we must admit that it does not happen like that for everyone. Some people come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ simply by seeking after him and having an encounter without human intervention. Kanye may have start seeking God in his own way. I do know that various gospel artistes and church leaders joined them periodically. As far as I know there was no permanent pastoral oversight. The Bible does tell us that we must submit to spiritual authority (Ephesians 6:1; Jeremiah 3:15). We are all expected to submit to a higher power. Chief among those power is a shepherd (a Pastor). We come to God as a lamb. Lambs are frail. They need nurturing and protection from a shepherd to guard them from the wolf. Just as a child needs parent(s) to guide them until they are mature and even beyond so does the saints need a Pastor.

I agree with the need for a Pastor in the life of a believer but we careful not to think that God can only do his work in someone if they follow this channel. He is more than capable of operating outside of the box. He will start with someone where they are then slowly move them to the place where they must be. When He is doing something new he will make a radical move.

What is the radical move that God is making? He is bringing the rejects and the forsaken into the Kingdom at this time. He is bringing people into the Kingdom who will be unafraid to go out and declare Him to the world. Too many of us are content to sit on our blessed assurance Sunday after Sunday and never share the gospel with anyone. Too many of us have removed ourselves from the world that Christ came to save. We were charged to go into the world and make disciples of all men. I know fulfilling that mandate comes with many challenges but we should not hide from them. People who have been forgiven much will love. They will be bold to share what they have received. These are the people that God is calling into the Kingdom at this time.

How Should We React

Our duty, as members of the body of Christ, is to pray for new believers. Instead of joining the chatter we ought to seek the will of God for the individual and pray accordingly. I wonder how many of us are doing that? This is not just a job for Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists, Teachers, elders and volunteers. ALL SAINTS ought to pray for the growth and development of one another.

In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. ~ Ephesians 6:18, Message Bible

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. ~ Philippians 2:3-4, New King James Bible

Kanye is another human being. He is no different from your beloved brother and sister. No different from the black sheep of the family. No different than you and I. He needs our prayer.

Pray for One Another

How many times have you asked others to pray for you? I know I have. I know I grew in faith because God had people praying for me. There were many times when He sent people with words of encouragement to help me continue in the race. Especially, at times when church folks wounded me when I was a baby Christian. We all face daily natural and spiritual opposition, Without consistent prayer we may fall.

God can use this vessel to reach people in places where the gospel cannot penetrate. Kanye’s have been used to create music that have drawn millions to him. Those are souls that may be reached for the Kingdom of God. Some may never have heard the gospel. They may never have heard the name of Jesus Christ. Through his music a seed may be planted. God will allow that seed to be watered at another time. In the fullness of time He will call the person into the Kingdom.

My job was to plant the seed, and Apollos was called to water it. Any growth comes from God, so the ones who water and plant have nothing to brag about. God, who causes the growth, is the only One who matters. The one who plants is no greater than the one who waters; both will be rewarded based on their work. We are gardeners and field workers laboring with God. You are the vineyard, the garden, the house where God dwells. ~ 1 Corinthians 3:6-9

Please pray that the light of God will continue to grow in his life. I have watched a few interviews with him and have seen a glow radiating from him that I have never seen before. Granted I cannot say much about him. I was never a fan of his music. His prior demeanor always troubled me. He seemed so morose and cloaked in a dark cloud. In some interviews he seemed addled. When I listened to Jimmy Kimmel’s interview he was very articulate and clear in his speech. His face was glowing with joy at having met Jesus Christ. Let us pray that the world will not steal that joy away. Jesus died so He also may be saved.

Also let us keep his family in prayer, especially Kim Kardashian West and the children.

Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. ~ James 5:20

And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 32 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls. ~ Joel 2:28-32

Prayer

Father we pray that your Holy Spirit will rest on Him. May the spirit of love, power and a sound mind rest on your son, Kanye West. We ask that you bring him to deep encounters with your Presence and be filled with the revelation of the knowledge of the height, depth, length and breath of your riches to us, in Christ Jesus.

Fill him with your perfect love. For perfect love casts out all fears. I thank you for giving him a sound mind. For your Spirit is the Spirit of love, power and a sound mind. And we know that He is the seal of the promise which is given to all who receive you as their Lord and Savior.

Lord hide him under the shadow of your wings. Keep him as the apple of your eye. That after he has won souls for the Kingdom he will not be a cast away. For we know that he predestined us to be conformed to his image before the very foundations of the earth. Many of us went astray and were returned to the Bishop of our soul. So may your son remain with and be in you.

Father help us to keep a watch over our mouth, so we may not speak loosely but will endeavor to see what you are doing and pray your will in this earth. May Kanye grow from glory to glory.

Strip ego and pride Lord Jesus. Teach him to walk humbly before you. Father we ask you to surround him with support and good counsel. People who will hold him accountable and speak truth at all times. Surround him with love. Surround him with the peace that passes all understanding. The peace that comes only from resting in you, Lord Jesus. At the end of his days may he boldly say, “I know my Redeemer lives. With my eyes I will see Him. With my mouth I will praise Him. I have fought a good fight. Now remains a crown of life for me”.

Place a watch around his family. May they dwell in safety. I release angels to surround them. To keep them safe from harm and danger. May your peace rest upon their household. May they see days of love, peace, joy, unity and happiness.

Thank you Lord for hearing our prayer. Help us to be ever mindful of our brothers and sisters. Help us to pray daily for their continued walk in Christ. We are one body. Every part is important. The eye, the ear, the mouth, the hands and the feet. Those that are stronger must esteem those that are weaker even more. For this is love. That we regard not our own but that of others. Father help us to be known by our love. By that may all men know that we are your disciples.
