I absolutely love visiting art museums or galleries. I do not know the nuances of the artistic styles or the intricacies of the piece. Why the artist chose to work with a particular material or colors, etc, etc. To be brutally honest I struggle with expressing the emotions evoked by an iconic art work. I may be moved to tears or mesmerized but cannot say why.
I do know that it resonates with my spirit. There is more than a soulish connection. In the moment I am enraptured in ecstasy. My imagination comes alive. I am taken into that world. I can see, hear and experience the fullness of what was happening. There is no spoken word exchanged with the art piece. Friends are quickly drawn into the experience.
After a few minutes the fascination wears off and its on to the next item. In an hour or more I am back in my world. The bliss of the experience is quickly forgotten.
Today as I examined a company stock that the Holy Spirit told us to purchase last year I was very happy with its performance. We did not have a lot of money at the time. Getting the stock was a sacrifice but we obeyed. Like an expert advisor the Holy Spirit informed me of the conditions that will boost the stock’s value. Areas of research and activities to boost future development by the company were outlined. I was told a specific price the share would bypass and hold steady for a long time.
Today as I examine The stock it has now reached that mark and held steady. It’s It has risen by more than 50 per cent. The Word of the Lord is fulfilled. Shortly after I convinced my wife to purchase the stock she informed me that in 2017 she was told to purchase the same stock. Had she obeyed or spoken to me we would earn more than 100% on the investment. Just think about that for a moment!
Doesn’t it blow your mind that the Holy Spirit can give expert advise on investment? My wife and I know very little about company stock investments. But He knows. That advise from the Holy Spirit rekindled a long-buried passion for stock markets investments. As I engaged with the Holy Spirit further he gave advise about shifts that will impact the stock market.
Now this article is not about the investment. It is about our relationship with the Holy Spirit. I wanted to bring to your attention how much we lose from not having an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said it was very important that he come. When he does he will show us things that are to come. He will not speak of himself but he will speak about things that he sees the Father doing. He will guide us into all truths.
But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].
14 He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.
15 Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.
Many of us live below our best. Why? We fail to value the Holy Spirit. We view Him as a showpiece. A weird inanimate object. Just a power that causes us to act weird and make strange sounds. Only when we are around other believers is He put on display. Just so others can say how anointed we are. I know of what I speak. I was that person.
May I encourage you to build a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Converse with Him. Set times of meeting with the Holy Spirit as your starting point. Maintain those hours. Begin with worship. Talk to Him. Listen as He responds. Have a conversation. Make yourself available to do the will of God. Follow His leading as you do it. Talk to Him about everything. Share your feelings. What made you happy during the day? What made you sad? What angered you? Give your emotions to Him. Listen as He advises you of what must be done. Let Him reveal Jesus to you and bring back scripture to your memory or give you the words to speak in any occasion. A great example of what friendship with the Holy Spirit may bring is the accomplishments of the late quantum physicist David Van Koevering. He was taught many things about this field. These lead to scientific breakthroughs and inventions. A bit of the revelations given to him in this field is captured in the book The Physics of Heaven. (Click here to read excerpt or purchase it)
Friends, The Holy Spirit is more than a showpiece. He is your friend, companion, universal counselor, guide, teacher and the source of all spiritual power. He came to show you how to accomplish your assignment on this earth. And to reveal Jesus to you.
Please take the time to know Him better.
