If you are like I was you may want to just get on with your life and ignore all that spiritual warfare stuff. Sometimes it’s just overblown with too much talk about the Devil and deliverance. I agree that some people take it too far. I am very weary of persons who specialize in exorcism or deliverance. I believe in casting out demons. Jesus cast out demons. So we must follow His lead. Make no mistake, demons still exist today and are responsible for the ills of this world. Experience has taught me that we cannot intellectualize everything that happens in the life of an individual as simply a emotional, mental, situational, economic or just a mistake. Demons are actively working to destroy our lives.
We must understand that we are in a continuous spiritual battle between two kingdoms. The battle rages around us every day. I am not talking about a skirmish. It is a cosmic battle of epic proportions. One that decides our fate. We do not have the luxury of simply going about our lives in denial of the war’s reality. Each of us must choose a side. You are either on side of the Kingdom of light, God’s side, or the Kingdom of darkness, the Devil’s side.
Choosing the Lord Jesus grants you access to the Kingdom of light. With it comes all the benefits that he received. As a citizen of His Kingdom you receive eternal life, health, blessings, prosperity, wisdom, and all good things.
Should you chose to align with Satan and his Kingdom of darkness there will be only condemnation and futility. Any success gain will be only in this lifetime. We will not spend an eternity in regret. Jesus said, ‘the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. I am come that you may have life and have it more abundantly’ (John 10:10). Satan has no love in him. He desires to harm you in every possible way imaginable. After he has had his way with your body he will then kill you. He is not your friend. Entertainment, wealth, riches and all the finest things money can buy only satisfy us for a brief moment. Jesus mentioned a rich man that died and went to hell. He was in torment. Nothing he owned in the world brought him comfort in hell. No bargain could be struck with demons or anyone. (see Luke 16:19-31). Satan is not our friend. He is the father of lies. He uses a very sophisticated system to trap and entangle us. He steals our joy, our hope our peace, our health, by with his lies. The lies are skillfully worded to let us believe. When we are ensnares he comes for the kill. It is imperative that we do not fall into these traps.
You may wonder, ‘”how do I avoid these traps?” Our first source is the Bible. Acting in obedience to the knowledge and revelation of God’s word is our first line of defense. God’s word is truth. Only truth can keep us from falling. We must also allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. Listen to the counsel of your spiritual leaders and elders. Especially, those who have had a very successful walk with the Lord Jesus. Who are know by their love and good works. You may know someone who has messed up. Do not be too quick to discard him or her you can learn valuable lessons from their mistakes. Just be careful that you do not partake in their sins.
Thankfully our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has revealed truth to us, so that we will not be snared by the enemy.
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
~ John 8:31-32
This is the year of the Lord’s favor. This is the acceptable year of the Lord Jesus. Today is the day to walk in divine favor with His word.
The Lord wants all His people to live in victory over their enemy. Obeying His commandments. What He’s given us in the Bible is our line of defense. We must accept the truth and walk in it to live in freedom from Satan.
Will attacks come? Yes they will still come but we will not be snared by the attacks. We will operate in the offensive with the Word of God. When we walk in truth,
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
~ Job 22:28
Here are some truths about that are relevant for you.
There is no name that is higher than the name of Jesus. Everything must bow to the name of Jesus. That includes sickness, disease, demons, occult, magic, etc have to bow to the name of Jesus.
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”~ Mark 16:15-18

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
